The problem
Flight logs contain huge amounts of information. Battery behavior, vibration, GPS quality, and estimation data can all matter, but they are hard to interpret consistently without an organized analysis workflow.
System approach
The proposed review path is log ingestion, normalization of selected flight signals, engineering checks, and a visual report for operators. The emphasis is on traceability between a finding and its underlying telemetry, rather than a black-box health score.
- Parse and organize ArduPilot DataFlash
.BINlog data. - Look for patterns in battery, vibration, GPS, and EKF-related signals.
- Present important indicators through a browser-based dashboard.
- Iterate on how findings are communicated to a non-specialist operator.
Verification questions
Comparisons across flights require consistent signal definitions and operating context. A meaningful warning needs reproducible thresholds, handling of missing records, and a way to distinguish actual faults from normal changes in flight conditions. Those issues remain part of the engineering work.
